So you think you are the fastest puzzler around?  We will just have to see about that.

Saline County Library will host the first annual Jigsaw Puzzle Showdown.  Grab a partner or three and put your skills to the test.  We will start the competition promptly at 10:00 am.

What is a Jigsaw Puzzle Showdown?

It is a competition to see which team can complete a 500- or 1000-piece puzzle the fastest.

When is the Showdown?

  • Saturday, February 22, 2020
  • Competition begins at 10:00am sharp.  Plan to be at the table early so you can start as soon as possible.  Late teams will still be allowed to compete, but will not be given any extra time.
  • The competition ends when one team from each category has been determined to be the winners.  Should no one finish, a winning team from each category will be determined by Library staff at 3:00pm sharp.

Where is the Showdown?

Saline County Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library in Benton – Lower Reading Area

Who can compete?

  • Anyone ages 10-125
  • 6 teams of 4 people will compete to finish a 1000-piece puzzle
  • 6 teams of 2 people will compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle
  • Registration deadline is February 20, 2020 at 5:00pm
  • Teams can keep the puzzles after showdown is over
  • All puzzles will be identical and unopened at the time the competition begins

Why?

Why not??

How?

  • Gather your team together and register for your spot in the competition by going to the Library’s website or calling the Library to have a staff member complete the registration process for you.
  • At 10:00am, a Library staff member will ensure all teams have the same setup at each table.  The staff member will give the signal to begin at which time teams will open their puzzles and begin putting the puzzle together in any way they deem appropriate.
  • Snacks and waters will be available throughout the competition.  There will be no “breaks” in the competition, but team members can choose to leave the table at any time while the competition continues.
  • When your team is done, signal the Library staff member for a final determination.
  • A grand prize will be given to the winning team in each category.
  • A door prize will be given away to one lucky participant during the competition.
