One of the best parts about the holiday season is the opportunity to give back to your community.
At the Saline County Library, you can take advantage of that opportunity every Wednesday!
On Wednesdays at 3:30 PM at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library, you can join us for a collaborative yarn arts program to make hats and scarves for those in need. If you know how to knit or crochet, pick up one of our projects and add on to it. If you don't know how to knit or crochet, don't worry! You can learn how to use our Circle Looms and you'll be whipping up a hat or scarf in no time!
All of the projects will be placed on the library's Warm Wishes Tree this winter to be used by community members in need.
This program is for ages 10 to adult.
If you can't make it to our Making Warm Wishes program, feel free to bring donations of new or gently-used scarves, gloves, hats, etc. to the library.
Here are some other ways to help out your community this holiday season:
- The Bryant Rotary Kids Closet is always accepting donations of not only warmer articles of clothing, but all kinds of clothing for people in Saline County.
- The Saline County Library also accepts food donations for our food pantry.
- Civitan Services accepts most donations year-round.
If you know of any other coat drives or ways to help out the community, please email us at email@example.com and we will get it added!
