Please join us in congratulating Rick Johnson as the new Public Services Manager at the Saline County Library!
You may know Rick as the super-friendly guy who always greets you when you come into the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library! Rick was previously our Assistant Public Services Manager and he is so excited to step into the Public Services Manager position. Here are a few things about Rick:
Share one thing that you love to do that you get to do nearly every day.
I live in Hot Springs Village, and nearly every morning as I come to work, I get to watch the sun rise over the mountains and lake by my home. I love the wonderful view - it gives me a peaceful, easy feeling!
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
Three things still on my bucket list are to make return visits to Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon National Parks.
If you had one free hour each day, how would you use it?
If I had one free hour each day, I would like to spend 30 minutes walking on the trail by my home and 30 minutes reading.
What, or who, are you a "closet" fan of?
I am a "closet fan" of Alfred Hitchcock. I love his movies!
What technology innovation made the most impact on your life?
I think the technology innovation that has had the most impact on my life is a cell phone. My cell phone is in my pocket and anytime I choose, I can call my sons away at college or my wife who travels the state in her job. It is a wonderful thing to be able to reach out to those you love in just a moment. Trust me, 30 years ago that was just not an option! Cell phones make it so much easier to stay connected with those you love!
