From food donations to old electronics, we’ll probably take it!
The Saline County Library is proud to be a resource for our patrons by providing a food pantry. We hope to help the community in all areas, not just be a place to study or to find the next entertaining book; we’d also like to be able to provide a meal for your family if you’re ever in need. If you’ve been searching for a way to give back to the community, feel free to bring canned foods, hygiene products (deodorant, soap, etc.) and other nonperishable items to the circulation desk at the library.
Our Ebay account, DeweyHaveIt, sells items that have been donated to the library, and we also sell electronics (working or not) like video game systems, iPhones and tablets! Sometimes it’s hard to get rid of newer electronics that may not be in mint condition, and we’d love to take them off of your hands!
With the opening of our brand new Makerspace, we are always accepting donations of craft supplies be it old craft supplies that you don’t have time to use or new craft supplies that you just felt like providing for the community. With our Makerspace, we hope to be a place where the community can be creative and learn new skills while also having fun. While we have several devices like 3D printers and a sewing machine, there are some craft supplies that run out quickly such as paint or craft paper.
From our book sales to the Ebay account, we’re a library so we’re always accepting book donations! If you have a bookshelf full of books you’ll never get around to re-reading, bring them to us and clear out some space for new books! We love to be able to provide a service such as the book sale where the community can get books for a bargain, and we’re able to do that because of generous donations from the community!
Please note that we can only accept new or gently-used donations. If you’re looking to donate any of the items listed above, please bring them to the front desk at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library in Benton. We appreciate your continued support of the library and the community!
