Have you ever read a book and needed to tell someone how much you disliked a certain character?
Or have you ever wished to have a friend who could relate to all of your end-of-book feels?
Monday Afternoon Book Club is the place for you.
Saline County Library’s Monday Afternoon Book Club is “more than a book club,” says Friend of the Library member Ann Hall, “this was a group of strangers who became lifelong friends through their love of books.”
The Monday Afternoon Book Club is held on the first Monday of each month at 1:00 PM at the Mabel Boswell Memorial Library – if there is a holiday, it is delayed to the second Monday.
There is a leader of each meeting where the group discusses a wide range of books from historical fiction to memoir to mysteries. Members can also recommend books that they have read recently.
“We’ve done everything – a different book each month,” says book club member Linda Edwards, “classics to SciFi to a little bit in between.”
Book listing for 2018/19:
September Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
October Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles
November Educated by Tara Westover
December The book club will visit a local art studio instead of meeting at the library.

February All Over But the Shoutin’ by Rick Bragg
March Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult
