Fall Program Lineup for Kids

This fall at the Saline County Library we have great programs for kids ages 0-12! Programs at our Bryant branch will begin October 1st.

Mondays at the Benton Library

Toddler Storytime with Mrs. Wendy @ 10:00 - Ages 1-3

Join Mrs. Wendy for a weekly story time designed for toddlers that features songs, a flannel story, board books, and fun with egg shakers, rhythm sticks, and toys.  This storytime is designed for children 1-3 years old, but older and younger children are welcome.

V.I.P. Very Important People @ 4:00 - Grades 2-3

Learn about famous inventors, pilots, and chefs. We will read about a famous person each week, and do an activity related to their life. Be prepared to build, cook, and recreate inventions.

Fun Day Monday @ 4:00 - Grades 4-6

Come enjoy a different fun activity every Monday. Robots, makerspace, graphic novel book club, and escape rooms! Registration required.

Tuesdays at the Benton Library

Baby Storytime @ 9:30 - Ages 0-18 Months

Caregivers and infants are invited to join us for baby storytime beginning Tuesday, September 4th. We will enjoy songs, rhymes, fingerplays, stories, and play! 0-18 months

Play to Learn @ 10:30 - Age 4 and under

Did you know that playing is vital to your child's development? We will provide activities for you to engage with your child that are fun and meaningful.

Master Builders @ 4:00- Grades K-1

Each week we will have a building challenge involving a theme (e.g., ramps) or a certain selection of materials (natural objects, recycled items, etc.). Come show us your master building skills!

Wednesdays at the Benton Library

Homeschool Hour  @ 10:30 - Ages 6-teen

Join us every Wednesday to hang out with other homeschooled kids and do a different activity every week. Makerspace, geography, cooking, engineering, games, and more!

Thursdays at the Benton Library

Preschool Storytime @ 10:30 - Ages 3-5

This storytime is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 5 and it will help prepare your little ones for kindergarten. We'll learn and practice the skills needed to succeed in school and have fun at the same time! We will enjoy songs, stories, crafts, other activities and meet new friends every week!

Fridays at the Benton Library

Let's Get the Rhythm @ 10:30 - Ages 3-5

In this lively and interactive storytime, we'll hear stories and create accompanying music with shakers, rhythm sticks, drums, castanets and other instruments to practice early literacy and math skills in creative and musical new ways. This program is intended for ages 3-5, but everyone is welcome to join in on the fun!

Children’s Theater @ 10:30 - Ages 9-12

This class introduces children to beginning acting techniques through games, activities, skits, and improvisation. They will then use their skills to put on a play in front of a live audience! Reading skills and registration required! Friday, 9/7- Friday, 11/16
Performance is Saturday, November 17 @ 10:00 AM

1st Saturday of the month at the Benton Library

This inclusive program is designed specifically for differently abled children of all ages and their families. September 1 - Interactive Storytime, October 6 - Sensory Play, November 3 - All Abilities Yoga, December 1 - Messy Art

Tween Movie Making @ 4:00 - Ages 8-12

Lights! Camera! Action! Tweens can work together to write, star in, and shoot their own re-creation of a family favorite movie!

Tuesdays at the Bryant Library

Preschool Storytime @ 10:00 - Ages 3-5

Young children will have fun learning early literacy concepts through stories, songs, and activities.
Best for children ages 3-5.

Wednesdays at the Bryant Library

Baby Storytime @ 9:30 - Ages 0-18 Months

Engage your little one by talking, singing, and playing with activities specifically designed to encourage early growth and development. Best for babies 0-18 months.

Toddler Storytime @ 10:30 - Ages 18 Months - 3

Engage your toddler's natural energy and curiosity as they explore early learning concepts
through movement, music, stories, and play. Best for 18 months- 3 year olds.

Kids Can @ 4:00 - Grade K-2

For the month of October kids will hear a story and then make a dish inspired by it. 

In November kids will learn the basics of coding.

Thursdays at the Bryant Library

Play to Learn @ 10:00 - Ages 0-4

Children learn best through play, so we want to give them an opportunity to grown and learn while you and your child connect through fun activities like cooking, sensory play, play-dough, and STEM. For children 0-4. Some activities may be more appropriate for toddlers and up, but babies are always welcome.
