Adult Programmer
Susie is an Adult Programmer with the Saline County Library. She is an introverted Hobbit with a love of art, books, cats, and coffee, as well as a connoisseur of weird and quirky words and phrases. Before she began working in public libraries, she studied and taught German language and literature, and she speaks German with near-native proficiency. The Arts & Crafts Force is strong with Susie, but she also loves doing Reader’s Advisory. There’s nothing more satisfying than helping someone find just the right book or movie!
If I woke up tomorrow an animal (how Kafkaesque), I would choose to be a very pampered, indoor-only feline with a healthy god complex because cats always find the coziest spots to nap, cats don’t have owners (they have staff), and cats are beautiful creatures.
I was born at the mental age of 30 and therefore eschewed toys in favor of art supplies (particularly purple crayons, according to my mother).
Visiting Paris, France; booking a weekend in a luxury treehouse; digging up a perfect, giant quartz crystal.
It’s a toss-up between Diagon Alley and Hogwarts from the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and Three Pines from the Chief Inspector Armand Gamache mystery series by Louise Penny.
