Looking for something fun and free to do this winter? The Saline County Library is excited to offer several free classes in January 2026! These hands-on sessions are a great way to learn new skills, try new technology, and pick up helpful tips for everyday life.

All classes are free, but registration is required and space is limited. Be sure to sign up early!


Glowforge Certification Class

Thursday, January 22 | 2:00–3:00 PM | Benton

Have you ever wanted to use a laser to create cool projects? The library’s Glowforge laser printer can cut or engrave designs on wood, acrylic, leather, and more! In this free class, you’ll learn how to use the Glowforge safely. After the class, you’ll be able to reserve the machine for your own creative projects.

Intro to Canva

🎨 Intro to Canva: Design Basics (Registration Required)

Want to make eye-catching flyers, cards, or social media posts? Canva is a free online tool that makes designing easy and fun. This beginner-friendly class is taught by Ms. Laura, who will walk you through Canva step by step and share helpful tips to save time.

You’re welcome to bring a laptop or tablet, but it’s not required. Creating a free Canva account before class is a great idea. Need help signing up? Come 30 minutes early for one-on-one help.

Smartphone smarts

Feel like phones take up too much time? This new class, offered with the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service, shares easy ways to cut back on screen time. Adults will learn how to build healthier phone habits and set helpful limits for kids. Families are welcome to attend together!
