Summer Renovation Plans for Boswell Library

Boswell Library Closing in June for Remodeling

Bryant, AR

The Mabel Boswell Memorial Library branch located in Bryant will be closing this summer for an interior remodel. The library is expected to close mid-June and remain closed until August. The library will be getting an updated look, with several new pieces of furniture, fresh new colors, and new flooring.

“Our branch in Bryant is very busy and our number of visitors continues to grow each year. We are replacing some of our worn-out furniture items with new stuff that will last for years to come,” said Jill Martin, Assistant Library Director.

Additional Hours in Benton

The main library location in Benton will remain open this summer. “We are adding additional hours on Sundays in June and July to try to make visiting the library more convenient for everyone, since we will only have one open building this summer,” said Patty Hector, Library Director. “Of course, all of our online materials and e-books will still be available to everyone for check out if you can’t make it in. And, remember, your Saline County Library card will work at the library in Benton even if you got it in Bryant!”

Library services will continue as usual for Saline County Library, with just a few changes to remember. All reserved materials will need to be picked up in Benton this summer, and all library items need to be returned to Benton as well.

Summer Reading Program

Saline County Library’s summer reading program will continue as usual, but all programs will be held in Benton this year. “We are excited for the children’s librarians from Bryant to join us this summer and bring their program ideas and talents to this location. We are able to double the programming and double the fun this year with the additional staff,” said Amanda Garrison, Head of Youth Services.

At the completion of this project, Saline County Library will host an open house at the Boswell Library in Bryant. “We can’t wait to show our library patrons the wonderful changes that will happen this summer in Bryant. And, of course, to surprise the kids with a vibrant new library when school starts back!” said Martin. Check out Saline County Library’s website and Facebook pages for updates all summer long.
