Have you played… Munchkin?!

Check out a Board Game Today

Playing board games is a great way to spend a rainy afternoon or fill the long hours of a sleepover. One of our favorite board games to play at the library is Munchkin. Munchkin is a hilarious game created by Steve Jackson that is played with cards. Game play is pretty simple, just turn over a dungeon card, defeat the monster by having more points than it has, and then collect your treasure. Each monster you defeat raises your level and the first player to get to level 10 wins. It may seem simple, but this game is full of ways to block, curse and defeat your friends. Munchkin has become a favorite among library teens because of this. Who doesn’t want to beat their friends with “The Duck of Doom” or use a wishing ring to break curses?

The greatest thing about Munchkin is all of the wonderful varieties that exist. Love superheroes? There’s a Munchkin for that! Wizard of Oz? There’s one for that, too! There’s even a Zombie version! Come by your library and check out a Munchkin board game or ask to play it in the teen center in Benton or Bryant. Happy gaming!
