Library CLOSED one week in April to install technical upgrades.

Both branches of the Saline County Library will be closed for technical maintenance the week of April 10 – April 15, 2023. Wi-Fi will also be unavailable at this time. All in person programs will be canceled, rescheduled, or moved to an off-site location. Library materials that are due back that week have now been extended are due back the first week of May. This is to ensure all patrons have ample time to return materials. You may still use your personal devices from home, or other locations that have Wi-Fi, to access our online services such as the library catalog, Libby, Hoopla, Freegal music, and our many online research tools with the use of your library card.

The library has been working toward rebuilding the network for over a year and received special funding to make the project possible. While this will not be a physical change that library users will see, it will make our onsite network more efficient for staff to better serve our patrons. During this network outage, all onsite internet and intranet will be offline which means we will not be able to check-in or checkout any physical library materials. However, this is a great time for library users to discover the many electronic resources the library offers to the citizens of Saline County. The Libby and Hoopla apps are great resources for accessing eBooks and audiobooks, and Hoopla also has streaming movies, shows, and music available. If you want to listen to music, Freegal is a great option to discover new artists or genres that you may have never explored. If you need homework help, check out Brainfuse. You can find over 100 online resources to help with school work, skill building, hobbies and more.
