Halloween 2025 at Saline County Library!

Another year, another spooky season! We’re so excited to kick off the events for Halloween in 2025. This year, we’ve got some awesome storytimes, movies, trivia, and more! Check out everything happening at your local library.

The Costume Closet Is Back!

Starting at 9:00 AM on Monday, September 29, the Saline County Library’s annual Costume Closet opens its doors! Costumes will be available at all library branches on a first come, first served basis — no holds allowed.

You’ll find a wide range of styles and sizes for all ages, including options for adults and even pets!

Costumes tend to go fast, so we recommend stopping by early for the best selection. Once you choose a costume, it’s yours to keep — no returns necessary after Halloween. Just be sure to leave the hanger at the front desk when you “check out.”

Limit one costume per person.

Family Craft Night & Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Craft Night: Wednesday, October 1 | 5:30–6:30 PM
Benton Makerspace

Join us for a fun, no-carve pumpkin decorating event using a variety of craft supplies provided by the library! We’ll supply the pumpkins at all branches (limit 2 per family, while supplies last), but you’re also welcome to decorate your own.

After you finish your festive creation, be sure to enter it in the library’s Pumpkin Decorating Contest for a chance to win a prize!

🗓️ Contest Details:

  • When to enter: October 1 – October 6
  • Voting: October 7 – October 25
  • Winners Announced: Monday, October 27

Kids and caregivers are encouraged to come in costume, and candy will be available at the Youth Services desk after the event. Come celebrate Halloween with stories, creativity, and lots of fun! 👻

Trunk or Treat

Get ready for a morning of costumes, games, and out-of-this-world fun at the Saline County Library!

In celebration of Saline Reads’ first book selection, “A Rover’s Story,” this event will feature space-themed costumes and activities. Library staff will be dressed for the occasion, and visitors of all ages are encouraged to wear their own costumes, mingle with librarians, and enjoy fun yard games.

Candy will be handed out to all attendees, so don’t forget your trick-or-treat bags! Bring the whole family and blast off into a galaxy of Halloween excitement with your library community!

Candy Universe

Step into a sweet adventure as the East End Library Branch is transformed into Candy Universe! All ages are invited to stop by anytime during the week to enjoy the festive decorations and join in on the fun games. Everyone who participates in the games will get a prize! Come experience the magic and treats.
