Looking Back and Looking Forward

2022 is coming to a close, so what better time to look back at some of the fun things that have happened at the library this year? There have been storytimes by librarians, community helpers, and princesses, cooking classes, dinosaur and crystal digs, a library prom for the teens and for children under five, the opening of our beautiful outdoor area, the Nature Play Space, virtual and in-person activities, of course, the Summer (and Winter) Reading Programs, art, music, game, and STEAM programs, a trunk-or-treat, letters to Santa written and mailed from the library, and so much more. So many of you have chosen to come and check out these awesome opportunities for children, families, and adults alike. We are so proud of the things we’ve been able to accomplish this year, and we hope you will continue to see that the library is more than books.

Let’s not be sad that the year is over, however. We are looking forward to another wonderful and bustling year at the library. We will continue to have our tried-and-true storytimes several days a week, afterschool programs, and homeschool hour. We also plan to have more special holiday/fun storytimes, Teen Prom, Baby Prom, a board game and chess club after school, more Makerspace hours, a facilitated D & D club for teens every week and one Saturday a month, a builder’s club for early elementary ages, and our tiny art show once again. As you can see, there’s a lot to be thankful for in the past year and a lot to look forward to in the year to come.

Happy New Year from your Youth Services Librarians!
