Need book recommendations?
Let us help you find your next great read!
Here at the Saline County Library we have lots of options when it comes to finding books you and your kids will love. Anytime you are in the library one of our knowledgeable librarians would love to help you find great titles, but if you are not physically in the library we can still help!
Our library subscribes to a great online resource called Novelist K-8. Novelist K-8 provides read-alike recommendations for younger readers. This means that you can perform a search with the title of your favorite book and receive a list of similar titles. You also have the ability to search by reading level, interest, author, and more.
For kids in fourth grade and up, we offer personalized reading lists. Just fill out the online form as thoroughly as possible and we will prepare a list of 10 books which we think you’ll love! Lists will be completed within 1-2 weeks.

A great feature of our new website is a Staff Recommendations section at the bottom of the children’s homepage. Every month we will feature different lists of books that we love for specific age ranges and reading levels.
One free online resource that I love is called Goodreads. This is a social network just for readers that will allow you to keep track of all the books you read and discover new titles based on your interests. If you want to see what myself and the other librarians are reading, follow us on Goodreads.
