Salty Art at the Gann Museum

Salty Art - Saline County Artists 2026

By Cody Berry

This summer I wanted to do something a little less heavy and give people something to just enjoy without needing a history lesson to do so. Saline County is home to many, many people who love to create. So, I decided to use the Gann Museum to shine light on them for the summer. Thanks to help from my friends at the Saline County Library and a few things from home, I think there’s something for everyone on display.

“Salty Art” features the works of ten artists from the Saline County area. We have ten pieces of handmade pottery from Kara Redman of Haskell, sculpture by Lorance Berry, paintings by Taya Covey of Paron, Kim Berry, Jo Helen Fletcher, Shakeelah Rahmaan, and the Ellington sisters of Benton in addition to drawings by Dianne Roberts and Vanessa Scott.

Hopefully, if this is well received, I can do this every summer. There are so many creative people out there who just need to find their audience to succeed. So, I have put in each display some contact information for the artists in case our patrons want to commission work from them. “Salty Art” runs from June 4th until August 21st. After which, I will begin transitioning to our fall exhibit about first responders which runs from September to December.
