Participate in the “Tiniest Art Show!”

We’re hosting “The Tiniest Art Show” for patrons to show off their artistic abilities!

Beginning February 1st, you can pick up a Tiniest Art kit which contains a 3×3 canvas, air-dry clay, and paint. Submissions must be turned in at the Youth Services desk in Benton by February 25th.

“I’ve always been a huge believer in the idea that everyone is an artist,” says Ashlyn Wilcox, Makerspace Coordinator, “which of course is the whole idea behind the Makerspace! I don’t think it’s possible to make bad art on something as cute as a tiny canvas, so I’m excited to see what patrons of all ages and skill levels come up with.”

Artists can choose to either submit the painted canvas, air-dry clay creation, or both. Other mediums such as additional paint colors, colored pencils, and markers are allowed to be used, but participants must use either the 3×3 canvas or the air-dry clay provided.

Artists are free to choose the subject of their artwork, but all content must be family-friendly. Submissions will be displayed at the Benton branch during the month of March. Those who want to keep their artwork after the art show can pick it up by April 8th.

“I really hope the community can have fun with this project,” says Wilcox. “With everything going on, I thought something like a miniature art show would bring some fun, creativity, and hopefully smiles to library patrons as both participants and viewers.”

To sign up and get your kit, stop by the Youth Services desk in Benton starting February 1st.
